These Terms of Use (" Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites https://edustories.ai and https://app.edustories.ai, and any related services (collectively, the " Services") operated by Gaman Lab (" Company", " we", " us", or " our").

By accessing or using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Services. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are accessing the Services on behalf of a school, therapy practice, or other organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

The Services are designed for use by adults — including parents, educators, therapists, and other professionals — who create social stories intended for children or individuals with special educational needs. Creating an account does not make any minor a user of or party to these Terms.

2. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@edustories.ai if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Description of the Service

EduStories provides an AI-powered tool for generating personalised social stories. Users enter details about a situation, a person (typically a child), and a desired goal; the system generates a story with text and illustrative images.

The service is offered on a freemium basis. Free accounts receive a limited number of stories; paid subscription plans and single-story purchases unlock additional capacity. Pricing details are available at /pricing.

4. AI-Generated Content — Important Disclaimer

All story text and images are generated by artificial intelligence, using third-party AI models accessed via Replicate(replicate.com). AI-generated outputs:

may contain inaccuracies, factual errors, or hallucinations;
may occasionally include content that is inappropriate or inconsistent with your intent;
are not reviewed by a human before being presented to you;
are not a substitute for professional medical, therapeutic, psychological, or educational advice.

You should review every story before sharing it with or reading it to a child. EduStories does not guarantee the suitability, accuracy, or therapeutic value of any generated content. Always consult a qualified professional (e.g. speech and language therapist, educational psychologist, ABA practitioner) when designing interventions for individuals with autism or special educational needs.

In compliance with EU Regulation 2024/1689 (AI Act), we disclose that this service uses generative AI. The AI system generates content based on user-provided inputs; it does not make autonomous decisions about individuals and does not provide clinical assessments.

5. Data About Children

When creating a story you may input personal information about a child (e.g. first name, age range, gender, a description of a situation or behaviour). By submitting such information you confirm that:

you are the parent or legal guardian of the child, or
you are a professional (educator, therapist, or similar) who has obtained appropriate authorisation to process data relating to that child, consistent with applicable data protection law.

You must not input sensitive personal data (such as medical diagnoses, addresses, or full names and photographs) beyond what is minimally necessary to generate the story. Do not include any information that could identify a child to a third party.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
submit content that is harmful, abusive, discriminatory, or that exploits children;
attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or reproduce the underlying AI models;
use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Services;
circumvent any access controls, rate limits, or security measures;
resell or sublicense access to the Services without our prior written consent;
impersonate another person or entity.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Your content

You retain ownership of the inputs you provide. You grant us a limited licence to use your inputs to generate the story you requested and to operate and improve the Services.

7.2 Generated stories

Generated stories are provided for your personal and non-commercial educational use. You may share stories for personal, family, or educational purposes. You may not sell generated stories or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission.

7.3 Our content

The EduStories brand, application interface, and proprietary technology are owned by Gaman Lab. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, trade names, or logos.

8. Payments, Subscriptions, and Refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By purchasing a plan you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription from your account profile. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of the current billing period.

Single-story tokens are non-refundable once used. If you experience a technical failure that consumes a token without producing a result, contact us at info@edustories.ai for a remedy.

EU consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days from the date of purchase, except where digital content delivery has already begun with your explicit consent. By initiating story generation immediately after purchase, you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is thereby waived for that transaction.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GAMAN LAB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (I) THE FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (II) €100 EUR.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. EU consumers retain all statutory rights that cannot be waived by contract.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice.

On termination, your stories and personal data are deleted from our active systems as described in our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 7, 9, and 11) will remain in effect.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malta(EU member state), without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

EU consumers may bring disputes before the courts of their country of habitual residence and may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

For all other users, disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Malta.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the application. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
